<< THIS UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM IS NOT ADMITTING ANY NEW STUDENTS AS OF 2007>>
Degree Comparisions
As a comprehensive land-grant institution, the University of Maine offers several undergraduate degrees that address information systems knowledge domains. Differences in objectives among the programs may be confusing so we offer a few hints below. You should talk to the different programs to see which program might best meet your overall interests and career objectives.
We highly encourage students pursuing the Information Systems Engineering
degree program to consider taking a "minor degree" within
one or more of the additional areas listed below. Students in the
ISE program are required to take courses in several of these other
areas already so earning a minor degree may be closer than you initially
think.
Information Systems Engineering
- think tool builder with focus on designing databases and information systems
- think technical experts for new media environments
- think system designers, developers, engineers, analysts, and managers
- typically function within engineering, business or software development environments
